Femi Omotayo is the Managing Director of QED International Oil and Gas Limited, He is an entrepreneur with over 30 years’ International Oil and Gas experience. His solid technical background has catapulted him to Executive Management roles with International Blue-Chip companies like Shell, Halliburton, AMEC and Talisman Energy. After his 18year service in Europe, he pioneered QED International in 2003 and became the Managing Director of Orwell Oil and Gas International in 2000 seeing the company through a successful merger that birthed AOS Orwell Limited, one of the largest indigenous oilfield service companies in Sub-Saharan Africa.
He has worked on various capacity which was not limited to Engineering, Field development, Operations & Maintenance and Project financing, and amongst his notable achievements as the Technical / Commercial lead to SONAPET was the successful development and construction of 50,000bpd capacity refinery in Soyo Northern Angola as well as the development and construction of the OBEKPA 50 Metric Tonnes per day Urea Plant in South-eastern Nigeria
He has a degree in Mechanical and Petroleum Engineering from University of Dundee and Imperial College, London respectively. He also has a Degree in Business Administration from the University of Aberdeen.
Through his exceptional leadership qualities, he has been able to lead the diverse and talented team at QED International Oil and Gas Limited, towards the development of the Nigerian economy and manpower capabilities for professional oilfield product and service delivery.
Mr. Omotayo is proud of his Nigerian roots and continues to champion the cause of innovation and technology transfer as a vehicle for change and global best practice in the indigenous oilfield service industry in Nigeria.
